Speak Menu
The following selections are available from the Speak Menu:
Menu Selection | Description |
---|---|
Speak From Cursor Aloud | Select this entry to speak the current article starting at the current cursor position. |
Speak Selected Text Aloud | Use this selection to speak part of an article. Highlight the article area you wish to speak and click this selection. |
Speak All Articles Aloud | This menu selection performs exactly like the Speak button on the toolbar. In Multi-Article Mode, all articles will be spoken in sequence. In Single-Article Mode, the displayed article will be spoken. |
Speak All Articles to File | This menu selection performs exactly like the To File button on the toolbar. In Multi-Article Mode, all articles will be written to audio file(s). The File Output selection on the Multi-Article Options panel determines how many audio files are generated. In Single-Article Mode, the displayed article will be written to a single audio file. |
Pause | Use this selection to Pause and Resume speaking. Pause/Resume is enabled only if TextAloud is currently speaking or paused. |
Skip Speaking Forward | Use the submenu for this menu entry to skip forward in the text while speaking. The submenu selections allow you to skip forward by screen, paragraph, or number of lines. This menu entry is enabled only if TextAloud is currently speaking. |
Skip Speaking Back | Use the submenu for this menu entry to skip backward in the text while speaking. The submenu selections allow you to skip backward by screen, paragraph, or number of lines. This menu entry is enabled only if TextAloud is currently speaking. |
Skip to Next Article | This menu selection performs exactly like the Skip button on the toolbar. The selection is enabled only if TextAloud is currently speaking and in Multi-Article Mode. Use this menu selection to stop speaking the current article, and skip to the next one. |
Skip to Previous Article | The selection is enabled only if TextAloud is currently speaking and in Multi-Article Mode. Use this menu selection to stop speaking the current article, and skip backward to the previous one. |
Stop | Use this menu selection to stop speaking. |
